Join us on a beautiful autumn day to photograph the brilliance of leaves turning atop Mt. A. 2021 is predicted to be ideal for leaf peepers. Mount Agamenticus is Maine’s gateway to spectacular fall foliage. We will photograph from great mountain vistas around the perimeter of the summit. Mount Agamenticus is a 692 ft high monadanockin the town of York. The area surrounding the summit is a park reservation which provides habitat for wildlife and a venue for recreation.
From the top of the summit on a clear day you can see the skyscrapers of Boston, White Mountains of New Hampshire and the Maine Coastline all the way to Portland.
As a photographer and York resident of over 25 years, David Mazur has been photographing the seacoast area capturing the elements of the local seascapes and landscapes. Come join him on Sunday, October 17th at 3:00 for pre-lesson. Pre-lesson allows time for one-on-one discussion of individual skill level needs, learning objectives, equipment challenges and desired takeaways of the workshop. Our objective is to work with you to improve your photographic style. Tour will begin promptly at 3:30 and end around 5:30-6:00ish. This time slot will provide good day lighting and golden hour effects to capture the contrast of shadows and highlights. Please note the entrance gate to Mt. A closes at dusk.

Tonality
Tones and shadows create the effects that make black and white photography so dramatic. From white to black there are 256 shades of gray in between. Understanding the nuances of shades form different ends of the spectrum provide the photographer with a range of effects that bring black and white photos to a higher level of quality.
Composition
Some compositions work well with black and white and unfortunately others don’t. In this workshop, you will learn what type of subjects are best for black and white photography. Additionally, light will impact every aspect of the quality of the photo. Adjusting your subject and light in the right composition creates bold black and white richness.
Form
When done right form will bring your black and white photos to life. Landscape and architecture are wonderful examples of the moods and real feel created from black and white photography. Once you learn the techniques you will bring your photos to life photography workshops photography classes
